CORIANDER - KONRAD, organic seed
'Konrad' is a high-quality cilantro (coriander) variety prized for its strong flavor and aromatic leaves. This versatile plant can be used for its leaves, seeds, and young stems. The fresh leaves are ideal for salads, sauces, and Asian dishes, while the seeds are a popular spice for baking, pickling, and seasoning. 'Konrad' is a robust variety with a longer harvest period for leaves and a reduced tendency to bolt (go to seed) prematurely.- Sowing Time:
- Direct sow outdoors from early May to late June. Alternatively, start seeds indoors in April for an earlier harvest.
- Location:
- Prefers a sunny or partially shaded spot with fertile, well-draining soil.
- Sowing Depth and Spacing:
- Sow seeds 1–2 cm deep, with rows spaced 25–30 cm apart and 5–10 cm between plants.
- Watering:
- Keep the soil moist but avoid overwatering. Regular watering promotes better leaf production before the plant bolts.
- Maintenance:
- Remove weeds and loosen the soil to provide optimal growing conditions.
- Harvesting:
- Leaves can be harvested 4–6 weeks after germination. For seeds, allow the plant to flower and collect seeds once they turn brown and are fully mature.
