The climbing bean Brunhilde was developed from the variety Blauhilde (type Neckarkönigin). This variety is known for its long, round-oval, thick-fleshed blue pods that turn green when cooked. It is highly productive and resistant to diseases. Suitable for cultivation in greenhouses as well as in open fields. It is a market gardener’s variety with an excellent taste. Demeter biodynamic seeds.

Growing conditions:

  • Sowing time: Sow from mid-May to early June when the soil has warmed up (at least 12–15 °C).
  • Location: Prefers a sunny, wind-protected spot.
  • Soil: Thrives in fertile, humus-rich, and well-drained soil. Add organic fertilizer if necessary.
  • Supports required: Being a climbing plant, it needs support (e.g., trellises or nets).
  • Watering: Ensure regular watering, especially during dry periods.
  • Harvesting: The first pods can be harvested 10–12 weeks after sowing. Regularly pick young pods to encourage further production.
