A reliable and productive gourmet French large-leaved variety of corn salad with rosettes of shiny, deep green leaves. Plants only reach 4 to 6 inches high and about 2 inches wide and are resistant to mildew. Will bolt very fast in mid-summer heat, therefore it is best sown as a spring & autumn crop only.Heirloom.· Sow direct outside anytime in either early spring or autumn in drills 12mm (½in) deep and 15cm (6in) apart.
· Water the young plants during dry spells.
· Thin out when large enough to handle to 10cm (4in) apart.
· Make successive plantings every 3 weeks for a continuous supply.
· This is a cold weather plant that is hardy in 5 F and can be grown into the winter.
· To harvest first pull up every other plant and then pick a few of the outer leaves from the remaining plants.
