Out of stock Dandelion is a rosette forming perennial found in a very wide range of habitats including wetlands, sand dunes, mountains, gardens, wasteland and pastures. The plant group has numerous micro species adapted to a variety of growing conditions.
Suitable for: light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and prefers well-drained soil. Suitable pH: acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils and can grow in very alkaline soils.
Dandelions can be a important source of nectar for bees, butterflies and hoverflies early in the year and the seed is eaten by finches.
Extremely popular and nutritious grown for Tortoise food.
Sow in any soil type on open disturbed ground or in trays at any time of the year.
The seed requires light to germinate, do not cover seed.. Keep lightly watered until germinated.
