DESCRIPTION

Purple Teepee is a popular organic bush bean variety known for its exceptional productivity and striking purple pods. The pods are held above the foliage, making them easy to see and harvest while reducing contact with the soil and lowering the risk of disease.

This fast-maturing variety produces continuously throughout the summer when harvested regularly. Pods are best picked young, at around 10–12 cm, for the most tender texture and superb flavour. When cooked, the pods turn green while remaining sweet and stringless.

ORIGIN AND BREEDING

Purple Teepee is a modern, selectively bred bean cultivar developed for high yields, uniform growth, and excellent pod quality. While it has been grown for many years, it is not classified as a traditional heritage variety.
