DESCRIPTION

Tatsoi is a cool-season mustard green that matures into a low, dense rosette of thick, tender leaves. The flavour is mild and versatile—excellent in salads, stir-fries, soups, and quick sautéing.

Its strength is flexibility: harvest as baby leaves over a long period, or let plants size up into full rosettes. It’s also a strong performer for microgreens when you want fast, fresh greens with great texture.

GROWING GUIDE

  • Direct sow or start in trays and transplant

  • Sow from after the last frost into late autumn (extend the season under cover)

  • Sow depth: 0.5–1 cm

  • For baby leaf/microgreens: sow denser and harvest young

  • For full rosettes: thin to ~15–25 cm between plants

  • Row spacing: 20–30 cm

  • Keep soil evenly moist for the best tenderness

  • Harvest baby leaves in about 21 days, full size around 45 days

  • For repeat harvests, cut leaves above the growing point to encourage re-growth
